  1. Warranty Coverage

Core Improve provides a limited warranty for staining & sealing services:

  – Deck staining done with sanding and 2 coats of stain – 24 month of limited warranty.

  – IPE Deck oiling done with sanding and 2 coats of oil – 24 month of limited warranty.

  – Fence staining done with pressure washing and one coat of stain – 12 month of limited warranty.

  – Pergola & Gazebo staining done with pressure washing and one coat of stain – 12 month of limited warranty.

  – Playground staining done with pressure washing and one coat of stain – 12 month of limited warranty.

This warranty applies only to defects resulting directly from our workmanship or product application, provided that the customer complies with all required maintenance conditions outlined below.

  1. Warranty Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for and maintain this warranty:

  • All required maintenance must be performed by Core Improve during the warranty period.
  • The area (deck, fence, pergola, gazebo, playground) must be inspected and maintained at minimum every 8 months, or as recommended by Core Improve based on project specifics.
  • Any third-party or DIY maintenance, pressure washing, touch-up staining, or application of chemicals will void this warranty in its entirety.
  • The area (deck, fence, pergola, gazebo, playground) must not be altered, repaired, or refinished in any way by anyone other than Core Improve.
  1. What Is Covered

If the above conditions are met, this warranty covers:

  • Peeling or Flaking of stain caused by improper preparation or application by Core Improve.
  • Premature Fading that occurs within the warranty period and is not due to natural weathering or failure to maintain.
  • Uneven Stain Application visibly present within the first 30 days of service completion.

Any reapplication work, if approved under warranty, will be limited to the affected area(s) only.

  1. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear, including fading, weathering, or changes in wood tone.
  • Damage or failure due to moisture intrusion, standing water, poor drainage, snow buildup, or extreme heat/cold.
  • Cracking, splitting, warping, rotting, insect damage, or mold/mildew/algae growth.
  • Use of any cleaning products, chemicals, or pressure washing not performed by Core Improve.
  • Any work or alterations performed by homeowners, handymen, or third-party contractors.
  • Failure to follow post-service care instructions provided at the time of completion.
  • Customer dissatisfaction with chosen color or transparency after approval and application.
  • Furniture movement, foot traffic, or pet damage.
  • Surfaces not included in the scope of work (e.g., underside of deck or ceiling unless listed in signed agreement).
  1. Warranty Claim Process

To file a warranty claim:

  1. Contact Core Improve in writing at  support@coreimprove.com  within the warranty period.
  2. Include proof of service (paid invoice), a description of the issue, and clear photos.
  3. Allow Core Improve to inspect the area and determine the cause of the issue.

If a claim is approved, Core Improve will reapply stain to the affected area(s) only. No refunds or monetary compensation will be provided.

  1. Limitation of Liability
  • Core Improve’s liability is strictly limited to the labor and material cost of reapplying stain in affected areas under approved warranty claims.
  • This warranty excludes all incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including but not limited to loss of use, aesthetic dissatisfaction, or project delays.
  • In no event shall Core Improve’s liability exceed the total amount paid by the customer for the staining service.
  1. Required Maintenance Plan

To keep the warranty active, the customer agrees to:

  • Schedule a maintenance check with Core Improve at least every 8 months.
  • Allow Core Improve to clean, inspect, and, if necessary, touch up or reseal high-traffic or exposed areas.
  • Pay for any maintenance services outside of the warranty scope as quoted at the time of service.

Failure to comply with the maintenance plan will immediately void this warranty.

  1. Governing Law

This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction where the service was performed.

Warranty

Deck Building & Deck Repair Workmanship Warranty

Effective for 24 Months from Completion Date

Core Improve offers a 24-month limited workmanship warranty for deck building services, unless otherwise stated. This warranty covers defects resulting from faulty workmanship by Core Improve, provided the deck is properly maintained and not altered by third parties.


Warranty Coverage for Existing Decks Not Built by Core Improve

If repair services are performed on a deck that:

  • Was not originally built by Core Improve, and

  • Is older than 3 years at the time of service,

then workmanship is covered under a limited 30-day warranty from the completion date of repairs. This shorter warranty reflects the unpredictable nature and underlying condition of older structures not constructed by our team.


What Is Covered

If the conditions below are met, this warranty covers:

  • Structural Failures due to improper installation (e.g., loose boards, unstable framing, improper fastening).

  • Premature Separation or Warping caused by incorrect spacing, fastening, or substructure support during installation.

  • Fastener Failures caused by incorrect installation.

Repairs will be limited to the affected area(s) and may not result in a visual match with aged materials.


What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear, weathering, or aesthetic aging.

  • Wood warping, cracking, or discoloration due to natural conditions.

  • Mold, mildew, rot, termites, or other biological damage.

  • Any third-party work or customer-applied modifications.

  • Coatings, stains, or finishes (covered separately).

  • Failures due to poor maintenance or drainage conditions.


Warranty Eligibility Requirements

To remain eligible:

  • Deck must be inspected and maintained by Core Improve at least once per year.

  • Issues must be reported promptly.

  • No modifications by third parties are permitted.

  • Required maintenance (e.g., sealing, cleaning) must be completed by Core Improve(separate charge).


Warranty Claim Process

To submit a claim:

  1. Email support@coreimprove.com within the warranty period.

  2. Include a copy of your invoice, a description of the issue, and photos.

  3. Allow us to inspect the deck before any work is done.

If the issue is deemed covered, we’ll repair it at no labor cost to you.


Limitation of Liability

Core Improve’s total liability is limited to providing corrective labor and repairs for covered workmanship defects. No monetary compensation, refunds, or reimbursements will be provided.
All warranty work must be performed by Core Improve.
